One player,
written about carefully

ABOUT SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM is an independent editorial publication about the basketball career and documented public life of Sophie Cunningham. It is not connected to her, to her representatives, or to any team, league or university named on it.

Why it exists

What is publicly known about her is scattered: a university record book, league box scores, a club release, one interview, a podcast episode quoted in a newspaper. Each piece is findable and most of it is reliable, but almost none of it is assembled. This site puts it in order, says where each part came from, and dates the check — so a reader can follow a fact back to where it started instead of taking it on trust.

It covers four things: her life, her career, her statistics, and the parts of her public life that are documented. Where a question has a well-supported answer, the site states it. Where the available evidence is genuinely inconclusive, that uncertainty is kept explicit. Her story is the place to start.

How it draws the line

Some things are established beyond argument, some are reported well but never officially confirmed, and some are genuinely unavailable. The writing keeps those apart rather than flattening them into a single confident voice — a salary figure carried by good reporting is not the same as a published contract, and silence about someone's private life is not an answer about it. The sources and methodology page sets out how that judgement is made, and which sources are used.

Independence

About Sophie Cunningham is an independent editorial publication. It is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected with Sophie Cunningham, her representatives, Indiana Fever, the WNBA, or any other team, league or organization discussed on this website.

Nothing here is authorised, and nothing on it claims to speak for her. It is one publication reading the public record, which is also why it makes no claim to be complete.

Photographs

The 8 photographs on the site are freely licensed images, credited to their photographers wherever they appear and listed with their licences on the photo credits page. Commercially licensed photography is described in words rather than reproduced, and no AI-generated likeness of her is used anywhere.

Getting things wrong

Mistakes happen, and the useful response is a correction rather than a quiet edit. If you can point to one with a source, the contact page explains how it is handled.

The test for every page: could a reader check this themselves, from the sources named?

All text on this site is written for it. Team, league and university names are used for identification and commentary only. Content last verified 7 September 2026.
